Modular props/structures for Life Beyond!

There is a ton of work I have done during the past year similar to these on Life Beyond! But those are the only I can show at the moment.

It takes usually 1-2 days to do these iterations, clean and simple sketches with a strong base of industrial design and architecture. Add on top of this various custom shapes, flat thin or fat strokes, etc... no opacity on the brushes settings just flat and trying to avoid mistakes, the number of layers is usually high(!) but it's free, who cares!. Also basic colors (sometimes) to highlight the structure or the object's purpose (is there VFX? is there organic/natural elements? is there supposed to be a key type of texture? etc...).

I improved this workflow and technique first under the supervisation of Viktor Antonov and then Bradley Jeannsone. Duplicating some bases or perspective lines (layers) give me instantly new opportunities to keep going and continue to add more iterations, more solutions. It depends how helpful this can be for an artist, in my case as soon as I duplicate a line or a base I immediately create something new and I usually have to be stopped or I will continue for a long time.

As for now I analyze new ways to improve and use that and I do many of these in 3D, it gives faster results, lights and shadows are perfect but then it also lacks of 'artistry', it gives actually fast clean images but can also be less flexible on some levels depending on the object, no doubt that this is a kind of hybrid workflow. Rough and simple 3d versions are especially for Outsourcing for a (very very) understandable blueprint so there is no mistakes on this side, this part is something that is worked in cooperation with the Design team to respect dimensions, technical specs, in-game constrains and so on. Hopefully I will be able to share more of this because I've done a lot...
